La magia dei ritratti 3D: colori, luce e traslucenza

The Magic of 3D Portraits: Color, Light and Translucency

How are my 3D portraits born?

Imagine that each portrait is like a magical stained glass, where the colors are not just painted on, but are part of the object itself. This is what makes them unique!

The Secret of Translucency

The plastic I use (called "filament") is not completely opaque, but a little transparent. This means that light can pass through it, like with colored windows. This effect is called "translucency." When light passes through the different layers of color, they mix in a special way, creating shades and details that seem almost three-dimensional.

A color for each level

Here's how it works:
When I create a portrait, I divide the image into many thin layers, like slices of a cake. Each layer has a different color that has been precisely calculated. Then, when the layers overlap, the colors blend together and create the final effect. This process is called filament painting , and it's like painting the object while printing!

The magic of distance

Another thing that makes portraits special is something called transmission distance . This means that the further the light travels through the plastic, the more the colors blend together and become nice and soft. This is an effect that you can't achieve with traditional painting!

Why are they so original?

The portraits are not only colorful, but they use these techniques to seem alive, as if the light animated them from within. Each portrait is unique, because each image requires a different color plan. It's a mix of art, science and a pinch of magic! ✨
